Job description
The Systems Developer will join our team of 2 existing programmers and work with the entire company to create software to analyze investment opportunities. They will work mostly with the portfolio management team to create risk exposure views into the T2AM portfolio and assist in the analysis of potential investments. The company’s methods are statistically intensive and require a decent knowledge of math and statistics. T2AM’s working environment is intense, but casual and collegial. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, yet established, firm that provides a rich learning environment and is 2 miles from Venice beach. Working hours are 6:30am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. Compensation shall be comprised of the following components:
o Base salary 75K to 95K DOE
o Full benefits: Medical and dental insurance, paid vacation, 401-k plan
o Discretionary bonus: Determined by Founding Principal, based on individual achievements
o Potential access to profit-sharing: Percentage of firm’s profits, offering significant upside
Typical work activities
o Pull in daily positions and trades consisting of thousands of securities and transactions
o Create analytics reports from these positions and transactions
o Work with PM team to create analytics to evaluate potential investments
o Ongoing and ad hoc quantitative analyses of portfolio and strategies
o Maintenance of current programs and finding and fixing data anomalies
o Monitor daily processes to ensure software is running smoothly
o Use software to collect estimates from outside managers and collate them into our internal dashboard
o Run programs that create internal valuations of portfolios in near real-time

Technical Skills Needed

o Demonstrated ability to program in C#, .NET, Microsoft SQL Server, Transact SQL and R
o Knowledge of statistical methods
o Preference given for web development/Front end skills
o Work with the suite of Atlassian tools including Bitbucket
o Use of business intelligence tools such as SQL Server Reporting Services
o Secondary Skills
o Some Experience with using Amazon AWS EC2, S3 and Glacier
o Network configuration including Firewalls and VPN
o Server Maintenance, configuration and backups
o Windows Server and Windows Active directory
o IIS 7 server
o Some knowledge of Linux systems
o The company uses Salesforce for CRM
o Office 365 Administration
o Expert level in Excel and other Microsoft Office tools
o Maintenance of existing VBA programs used to scrape incoming emails
